The print of this beautiful collage of torn paper symbolizes the richness of the earth. I created it as an "earthy" background for Chief Seattle's environmental quote. "Whatever befalls the earth befalls the children of the earth." In 1855, our Native Americans truly understood the importance of caring for Mother Earth. They believed in our oneness with our planet and everything on it.
Since opening Jacqueline Originals in 1971, I have spent most every day in creative activities. I love to draw, paint, do calligraphy and any combination of these skills! Recently, I have added digital painting to my list, spending hours in my studio now that I'm retired from a lifetime of teaching art. I own a Microsoft Surface Studio tablet which allows me to draw/paint directly on the surface and see the results immediately. I can also use these images as underpaintings for my acrylic creativity. I had a fifty-year retrospective exhibit in 2018 to celebrate my 80th birthday. My day starts with quiet time in meditation; I find that my mind is inundated with creative thoughts and ideas, so I need some time to get centered. I have...
